Crafted exclusively for Coke Studio Bharat, Meetha Khaara blends earthy folk rhythms with contemporary sounds, building on the legacy of the iconic Khalasi and once again spotlighting Gujarat’s cultural roots.
Anchored in the 600-year-old legacy of the Agariya community, Meetha Khaara reflects the profound paradox of their lives. In Gujarat, the word “meethu” means salt, something essential yet born of hardship. For the Agariyas, salt is more than just a livelihood, it is a heritage that carries resilience and a legacy that is passed down with pride. Told through the intimate lens of the characters, the track reveals how each generation learns to embrace this duality where what appears harsh (khaara) is, in truth, their sweetest (meetha) inheritance. Therefore, giving life to Meetha Khaara, a song of perseverance and identity, echoing a community whose spirit, like salt, endures across time.
