Diwali Se Pehle… Khushiyon Ki Diwali — A Celebration of Sharing Before the Festival of Lights

Ahmedabad, October 2025: The Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Skyline organized a heart-warming Diwali Se Pehle…*Khushiyon Ki Diwali initiative at Rashtradharm Pratishthan, spreading festive cheer to over 75+ women and children from underprivileged communities of nearby slums — ensuring they too could enjoy the Diwali festivities.

Every year during Diwali, people receive multiple gifts and hampers. Many of these remain unused and often end up being discarded, wasted, or given away once they expire.

This initiative encouraged members to donate those fresh and unused items before they lose value, turning them into a source of joy for those in need.

The main distributed items included:

🎁 Unused & fresh gifts and hampers

👚 T-shirts, clothes, caps

🧸 Toys

✏️ Pencils & ruled notebooks

🍬 Chocolates and candies

✨ Special contributions made the celebration even more meaningful:

• Rtn. Saurin and Chaitali Basu sponsored fresh sweet packets for all beneficiaries.

• Rtn. Saket Khaitan supported with candies and chocolates for the children.

• Rtn. Uttkarsh Jhunjhunuwala contributed thoughtful gift hampers.

The distribution was carried out in the presence of COO of the club and Ipp Rtn. Saurabh Khandelwal, Rtn. Divya Chauhan (Project Chair), Rtn. Rahul Shah (Co-Chair), Jinal Shah, Rtn. Saurin Basu, and Chaitali Basu, who personally handed over the items and celebrated with the beneficiaries.

Centre owners Varsha Ji and Rutwi Patel supported and appreciated the initiative.

“This is just the beginning. We hope to make it bigger and reach more families in the time to come,” said Rtn. Divya Chauhan, Project Chair.

The event was truly a “Diwali before Diwali” — transforming unused and forgotten items into smiles, dignity, and festive joy for those who need it most.
